The Fujitsu Asia Pacific Scholarship (Fujitsu Scholarship) Program, sponsored by Fujitsu Limited, provides financial assistance for postgraduate education and cross-cultural management training to participants from the Asia-Pacific region. Fujitsu Limited, an international leader in information technology, telecommunications, semiconductors and electronics that is headquartered in Tokyo, established the Fujitsu Scholarship to commemorate its 50th anniversary in 1985.
The Fujitsu Scholarship program is available for academic programs at JAIMS. JAIMS, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a nonprofit postgraduate institute established by Fujitsu in 1972. Many Fujitsu Scholarship recipients/graduates are now working for corporate and social-service organizations in their home countries as well as in other nations.
The Fujitsu Scholarship is available for the EWKLP.The East-West Knowledge Leaders Program (EWKLP), a three-month curriculum, is a synthesis of best practice of the East and West. It is intended to sharpen one’s global management knowledge and skills, and build confidence for global business situations.
The Fujitsu Scholarship is available to citizens of selected Asia-Pacific countries in the following formats:
- Full-tuition scholarship and a monthly stipend are available to citizens of the following countries: Cambodia, China*, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar*, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam*.
- >Full-tuition scholarship with no monthly stipend is available to citizens of the following countries/areas: State of Hawaii, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Scholarship Process
To apply for the Fujitsu Asia Pacific Scholarship Program, follow the steps listed below:
Application Process
- Download necessary application materials from the Application Checklist section for EWKLP. However, if you are unable to do so, request an application through the Fujitsu Ltd. local affiliated office in your country or area (see the list of local affiliated offices ) or through this website.
- Submit all application materials to JAIMS at 6660 Hawaii Kai Drive, Honolulu, HI 96825, USA. Submit all documents listed on the Fujitsu Scholarship Application Checklist for EWKLP.
- Deadline: All application documents, test scores and academic transcripts must be received by JAIMS by February 15, 2008. The submitted application documents will not be returned to applicants.
Selection Process
- Initial Screening:
Initial screening is based on the strength of the application documents, which includes meeting the admission and scholarship qualifications. - Interview:
Applicants who pass the initial screening will be contacted for an interview at a designated date in April or May 2008. Applicants should be residing in their respective countries of citizenship (or in Hawaii for Hawaii residents) at the time of their interview. - Selection of Recipients:
- Final selection will be determined by Fujitsu Ltd.
- Selection is based on English proficiency (for non-native speakers of English), work experience, motivation and goals as expressed in the essay and interview, academic performance, and test scores. A key factor is the individual’s commitment to contributing to the mutual understanding and cooperation between countries and to the development of his/her home country. However, no single attribute outweighs others in the selection process, and strengths in one area may be used to offset weaknesses in another.
