University of Utah Scholarships for International Internships in Political Studies

Hinckley Institute of Politics
The University of Utah

he Hinckley Institute of Politics’ nationally recognized internship program provides local, state, and national internships and is now expanding its international internship program due to a generous donation from Asian philanthropist Li Ka Shing. The Hinckley Institute offers University of Utah undergraduate students scholarships of up to $4,000 for international internships in cities across the world. Scholarships are available to students who secure a Hinckley International internship or set up their own international internship and have it approved by the Hinckley Institute. The goal of the international internship program is to provide students an experience in global public policy, service, business, and politics as well as foster greater understanding among peoples, cultures, and governments.

The scholarship amounts vary from $500 to $4,000, depending on country, costs, and financial need. The amount of scholarship awards will vary depending on the number of applicants, internship costs, demonstrated financial need, academic record, and experience.

Internship Location
The Hinckley Institute sends students to a variety of locations around the globe. Locations include: China, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Belize, Scotland, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Mozambique, Ecuador, Ghana, and Thailand. The Hinckley Institute also sponsors students who obtain global internships through the U.S. State Department and other organizations.
